This is one of my favorite songs. We cast about in this life, restlessly going from pursuit to pursuit, wanting purpose, but many times finding mere distractions, wanting to know and be known, but often ill aware of the painful price of such longings. To really live, to really feel, to really be, is often to experience pain, loss, loneliness and fear. Yet, to merely “exist”, a pain-free robot, is much worse.
There is One Who knows us, Who has been there, experienced everything we have and offers us not only empathy, but ultimate accepatance, safety, serenity, and exhilarating joy!
My soul (my will, emotions and mind) ultimately finds rest in Him alone!
