The Voice of the Lord

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

The voice of the Lord created the universe (”uni-verse” means “one word”)

The voice of the Lord holds all things together.

Jesus said “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
I want to share an encounter that I had with the Lord some years ago in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada when I believe that the Lord through the Holy Spirit sang a word to me that literally changed the course of my life. He just might speak to you through this word that I call:

“The Song of the Lord”

So you think you’ve seen My glory
You think you’ve seen My power
You haven’t seen…
See what I’m about to do this hour
Take all My vessels of clay
Breathe My life within them
Place My Spirit in them
Taking them out of their own ways
While they stand before Me
Hear My orders- feel My heart
They aren’t worried about what people say
They are dead to this world and the approval of men
They have only one desire- that’s to glorify Me
Will you be one of them my child
I ask you today… join Me

Lay your life down, lay it down
Lay your past; lay your future too.
Lay all your pride and your fear and your worry
And I will melt it away as the morning dew
And I will take you my child
I will love you my son
Do not fear but trust me
Do not count it strange what I will do with you
Throw your plans away
Grow and walk in my ways
I will flow through you
I will be your life
You will see My Life and My Glory manifested

If you enter My gates with thanksgiving
And enter My courts with praise
You will never have to leave again
For I am your dwelling place
I will go with you through the valley
On the mountaintop so high
I have put My words and My life within you
Ever lift Me, lift Me high

I’ll go with you through the valley
Through the laughter and the pain
I will go with you through the desert
I’ll be the pouring rain
I will keep your feet from shaking
When everything around you looks dim
I am your Rock in a fearful land
I am my child and I’ll always be here

You’re my child- don’t try to avoid
The suffering you will see
For in the midst of those trials
You’ll more clearly see Me
And I assure you it’s just for a short time
Then your walk will be through
Therewill be no fleshly limitations
You’ll be free to worship Me
From your heart for eternity

Safe here inside Me
You’ll live forever
You will never be ashamed
Of Me and My words and My love song

God Encounter in Denver!

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Rita and I are in Denver, Colorado this week for a Worship Encounter Weekend at Church in the City. (See Itinerary page on this site for info).

We have been invited by Pastor Gary Hines who heads up Denver Metro Transformation. Also involved are Pastor Felix Gilbert from Restoration Christian Fellowship, Pastor Jude Del Heiro (who Wrote “More Love, More Power) of Confluence Ministries; Billy Sprague, songwriter and musician extraordinaire who now is the worship Pastor at Crossroads Church, and Bradford Richardson, Worship Pastor at the multi-ethnic Church in the City.

The Encounter starts this Friday night, Oct.13, at 7 P:M and continues from 9 A:M to 4 P:M on Saturday. God is up to good things in Denver and we hope you in the area will join us-and pray for us!

Also, be looking very soon for a brand new feature on our site: digital downloadable singles (I want to call them “songles”!)

Almost 200 songs that I have recorded over the years will be available for .99 cents each as MP3 downloads.

And of course we now have soundtrax available, teaching CD’s that will bless you from David and Rita, and songsheets and/or leadsheets for many wonderful, meaningful, relevant, singable worship songs.

When Jesus first was introducing Himself and His ministry He said: Repent -(Change your heart and your mindset- your way of viewing things) and believe the good news for the Kingdom of God is here! There is abundant Life in Christ that transcends gloomy headlines, adverse situations, relational and financial difficulties and by the Holy Spirit we that wait upon the Lord can mount up with wings as eagles, do the works of Jesus and live in abundant Kingdom life NOW!!

Godrest and Godspeed,

Pulse

Pulse
I have tried to keep the sadness at bay
Until I let it in
Like a long lost friend
Like the waves that break
With a healing ache
I let it out again

I have trembled like the last leaf on a barren limb
Until the winter wind
Blows me away again
And I tumble down
To December ground
To find I’m not alone

Life is simple just to live
No questions asked no answers needed
But my restless heart can’t seem to stay
Content for very long
But peace is here in spite of all I do or do not do
Through the changing of the seasons
And the silence is a song
And my face is growing older in the mirror now
Didn’t take so long
How the years have flown
And the dreams that I have clung to
Some have been fulfilled
Turned to memories
Others never will
But I’d rather feel it all than not feel at all
Take the laughter and the crying
And the Living and the Dying
And the dancing and the laying down to rest
Smiling at my lover and my children and my God
I must confess
I have been blessed

THE HOLY

Friday, August 25th, 2006

“He taught me how to sing the latest God–song,
a praise–song to our God.
More and more people are seeing this:
they enter the mystery, abandoning
themselves to GOD.”  Psalm 40:3 MSG

Normally I would talk about the “new song” aspect of the above verses- today I want to write about the mystery- the wonder of Who God is.

He is… Holy.

The word means “other”. Transcendent, above, different than, indescribable.

One of my “big brothers” in the Lord, Steve Fry, was praying about the passage in the book of Revelation where the Living creatures rested not, day and night, crying “Holy, holy holy, Lord Almighty, heaven and earth are filled with Your glory.

Steve asked the Lord: “God, I mean no disrespect with this question, I could see saying “Holy holy holy” for an hour, an afternoon, or maybe even- with an extra double cappucino- saying “holy, holy, holy” for a whole day; but wouldn’t saying that over and over resting not day and night forever and ever get a little…
boring?” (Cringe- wait for lightning strike…)

He thought He heard Father chuckle:

“Steve, first of all if you think something about me is boring, trust Me, the problem is always with your understanding of Me, for nothing about Me is boring- says the Lord!”

Then He felt like God gently revealed to Him:

“Every time those living creatures cry “Holy” they are responding to Me revealing something of Myself to them.

I show them My Wisdom- they respond”Holy“.

I show them My goodness, again the reponse: “Holy” (or translated: “Wow!”)

I reveal my lovingkindess- “Holy” is the response.

The reason they rest not day and night crying “Holy” is because I am ever unveiling more of Who I Am and the response is awe, delight, wonder and this exchange never ends because that is how big I Am!”

God is enthroned above political parties, denominational disputes, intellectual explanations, theological treatises, kingdoms and govenments of men, and our sincerely feeble attempts to explain Him.

To get to know Him is an eternal and glorious pursuit and to allow ourselves to be distracted from that pursuit by the clamor of temporary voices is to miss the unveiling of a far greater Artist than Van Gogh, a far more ingenius Architect than Gehry or Frank
Lloyd Wright, a more passionate Singer than Pavorotti-  you get the picture… or a little of it anyway, as much as we can stand for today.

Holiness is beautiful, exciting, “Other than”, and He has made us “partakers of His Divine Nature- His Holiness- through Christ!

Holiness is not a denomination or a severe manner of dress, or an adherence to a strict set of moral guidelines- Holy is Who God is… and Who we are in HIM!

In Christ we are not earthbound, not distracted, far more glorious and beautiful than we have dared to dream! The Sleeping Giant is Us! As Mustafa told Simba in “The Lion King”: “You are more than you have become.”
God has called us into an eternal adventure of intimacy with Christ! An eternity of reveling in, worshipping in, working in, being with, living in…THE HOLY!
